Day 14--Switzerland

Our first full day in Switzerland was very low key. Everyone slept well in their huge, comfortable beds and their private rooms. Donnie and I woke up early and went on a lovely walk in the nearby forest. We went into the village and bought a bunch of food to make at home, since everything here is incredibly expensive and we don’t like the feeling of dropping huge amounts of money on restaurant meals, unless the meals are amazing.  We watched a new season of the show “Blown Away” as a family. We went to the pharmacy and spent $12 on 10 Allegra allergy pills for Elise. The girls slept til about 11, and I took a 2.5 hour nap in the afternoon while Donnie took the girls for a forest walk.

We are staying in an Airbnb owned by a working musician and music producer. He is part of a brass band and a yodel choir! There is a huge meeting space downstairs, and every night the family hosts a party for other musical families. It’s very sweet and wholesome, and there are lots of little ones around at all times.

We are really comfortable here, except for sweet Elise, who was working hard to heal from her cold and is now experiencing allergies because the farmers all around us are cutting their grass to make hay. It smells wonderful to the rest of us, but she is in low level misery. Her new medicine does seem to be helping…hoping for an end to her chesty cough soon!

It is truly beautiful here in Switzerland. It feels we are walking around in front of a painted movie set.

Come into the forest with us!
